Welcome to getting started with WordPress: Get Familiar!

Our goal is to help you get familiar with the WordPress dashboard and equip you with the knowledge you need to get started efficiently.

If you have clicked around your newly established WordPress dashboard, it might look a little something like this:

[An image of a generic, twenty-twenty themed WordPress website that displays the title, ‘My WordPress Site’, the tagline, ‘Just Another WordPress Site’, and a link to a Sample Page in the heading bar. It shows an uncategorized blog post with the H1 heading, “Hello world!” written by a user with the username ‘adventuresings’ on October 12, 2021. There is a link to one sample comment. The text says, “Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start writing!” ]

I can guess some of the thingsyou might be thinking.

1. This [adventure sings] is not my name.

2. Where did this comment come from?

3. Hmm, [referring to the theme] this just isn’t really my style.

In truth, there is not a lot here yet. The good news is that these existing features give us an idea of what you can do and give you a starting point to work on your WordPress website. If you’re the type of person who likes to dig deeply into detailed information, you will be ecstatic to know that WordPress.org has a variety detailed documents to help you get started.
